  Pilates
The Pilates discipline requires an individual to focus on the activity and therefore develop a heightened awareness or "mental control." This control is focused around the core/mid-section of the body and is called the “powerhouse”. All movement originates from the powerhouse and allows the individual to move with greater efficiency. Expert martial artists and Yogis use this same principal and it is this understanding that Joseph Pilates invented all his exercises around. The core is constantly challenged with all Pilates exercises, therefore increasing the strength, flexibility, and coordination of the entire body with every movement.The benefits also include:

Allegro
Allegro is group Pilates that consists of up to eight individuals performing the exercises together with one instructor on a modified reformer (a traditional piece of Pilates equipment). Each individual has his/her own reformer throughout the class and the class speed and difficulty is directly related to the experience of the class. An individual can achieve all of the Pilates training results, as listed above, with a decrease in financial responsibility.

Individual Sessions
Because of the depth of knowledge of our Certified Pilates Personal Trainers, the individual sessions can be exactly tailored to your needs, and may be pure traditional pilates, or the session could incoprorate more or less cardio, strength or power training. Pilates is also an excellent rehabilitation tool.
